Bliss Brickworks - you say you care about animals and you understand our cause - yet you are helping to build the walls that will house innocent, suffering, distressed and confused animals who will all die in agony. Do you have two hearts? One for your own animals that would not see them subjected to any pain and suffering and one for these poor lab animals that you know will undergo the most horrific experiments! Friday the 11th of June saw another day, another demo at M Bliss Brickworks in Earls Barton who are supplying the new Leicester University animal lab. A fifteen minute conversation was held between one of the more senior workers (a nice enough fella but still wrong) and the campaigners where they were told several things (whether they are true or not remains to be seen). Apparently all the workers at M Bliss are against animal abuse. The worker the campaigners spoke to wouldn't put his animal in any "research" facility. He (and the other workers) understand the campaigners' cause. M Bliss' work is almost finished at the Leicester lab (we will still be highlighting your involvement even when you do finish the work). They will NOT be pulling out of the contract. If M Bliss DID withdraw their work, another contractor would be appointed. There is a recession on and they need the money. He said the workers of M Bliss are not for animal abuse but they "are only suppling the new lab" (yes, with the brickwork to build the thing - you are not some tenuous link). The campaigners asked him if M Bliss would supply the brickwork for a concentration camp for humans. He answered that that would be illegal and the campaigners replied that it may be illegal now but wasn't at one time - just like building these money making animal "research" facilities will one day be illegal. He said the new build will "only" house mice and rats. That's what THEY say. They do this to pull the wool over the publics' eyes - just like Oxford University lied when they said their new build was only going to be an animal hotel. Oxford University went on to say that "no experiments would be carried out there and there would be NO primates". Later on they issued a statement which stated "the facility will be used to experiment on animals". They now have colonies of monkeys within the facility. It also became apparent talking to this man that the police have been feeding M Bliss certain private information. Talking about the police: As the campaigners were leaving the demonstration, four police officers started to tail them. One of the officers stood in front of a campaigner who is a minor (and stopped him from walking) and asked him if he didn't want to talk to the officer. Two of the police officers' behaviour was particularly aggressive and totally uncalled for as the campaigners are polite (if determined) and approachable as the man they spoke to earlier would probably attest to. Still - if they get animal and human rights protestors off the streets, thereby helping to line the governments' pockets with the mass industry that is vivisection, maybe they will get that much desired for promotion? The thing is this M Bliss: Campaigners throughout history have opposed cruel and unethical practices. Whether that be the anti-slavery movement or campaigning for the right for women to vote - ALL practices which were legal at one point. Campaigners are within their right to oppose animal and human abuse and will continue to do so until such practices are abolished. Supporters of animal testing/vivisection say they only test on animals where there is no alternative. This is an outrageous lie and is disproved on all major anti-vivisection websites. There are many reasons why vivisectors/animal testers continue to use animals for human based medical research. One of them being the grant money they attract from the papers they publish in scientific literature - It is much easier and faster to publish papers using animals than by using human based research. Anyway - you may be unconcerned with the welfare and rights of mice and rats and say you are against animal abuse/exploitation/unsafe medicines that kill and harm humans but why not just be honest and admit that actually, this lab shouldn't be going ahead but you are too immoral and driven by money to actually put your money where your mouth is. Headline in the Daily Express yesterday: CANCER LINKED TO 'WONDER' DRUG Quote - "Steven Nissen of the Cleveland Clinic, in Ohio, said the findings were "disturbing and provocative". He said they raised "crucial drugs safety questions" and he called for ARBs to be prescribed with "more caution" until further research was carried out" - Unquote http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/180776/Cancer-linked-to-wonder-drug Further Information: Mice Are a Lousy Model: http://www.vivisectioninformation.com/index.php?p=1_50 General Information: http://www.curedisease.com/index.html http://www.safermedicines.org/faqs/index.shtml
